ABOUT
Born in Glasgow but hailing from Sydney, Katie Reid began her music journey as a teen when she explored her love of piano, singing and writing. Katie has been performing around the Sydney, Perth, and London music scenes for the past 9 years. She received a First Class Honours when she graduated from the Western Australian Academy Performing Arts in 2018 and performed on the televised charity event ‘Telethon’ on channel 7 during her time in Perth. Katie earned her stripes singing backing vocals for some of Australia’s biggest names such as Guy Sebastian, Christine Anu, and rapper Drapht. She has supported acts Joan and the Giants and Little Quirks on their headline tours promoting her original music.
Written to milestone and celebrate her first queer relationship, 'Pink Toothbrush' was Katie's first single of 2023, shortly followed by her single 'Healing' in late July. Katie was the first prize winner of ‘The Great Southern Song Comp – series 2’ in 2023 for her song ‘Healing’ and the interim winner of the The Great Southern Song Comp – series 1 in early 2023 for ‘Pink Toothbrush’.
